Garmin Connect IQ / Android Companion

Hockey
tracking
that gets it.

Your Garmin sees beer-league night and calls it "workout." RinkPulse sees shifts, bench, ice time, work/rest, HR zones, and, if you're between the pipes, saves and goals against.

No button-pressing every shift. Start the game. Play. Stop it after.

01 / WHAT IT DOES

The stats your watch should've been
giving you all along.

01

Auto Shift Detection

Bench vs. ice, picked up from skating motion and short heart-rate context. No tapping after every shift.

02

Shift Count + Avg

How many you took, how long they were, and whether the third period got ugly.

03

Ice Time / Bench Time

Real numbers, not just active duration. See how much of the game you actually played.

04

Work / Rest Ratio

The single most useful number for not gassing yourself in the third.

05

HR Zones

Time in each zone across the whole game and on a per-shift basis.

06

Goalie Mode

Tap saves and goals against from the watch. Save % at the buzzer.

02 / BUILT FOR

Made for people who actually play.

Things it doesn't do
(being honest).

It's a side project. I ship between shifts. One dev, one rink bag.
05 / ANDROID BETA

Looking for real hockey testers,
not random installs.

Best fit right now: you play hockey, wear a Garmin, use Android, and are willing to try one real skate and tell me what broke or felt confusing.

06 / QUESTIONS

Frequently asked,
honestly answered.

How do I see speed, distance, and shifts?
Start a RinkPulse workout, then move through the in-game pages. DOWN or swipe down/left goes to the next page on current builds. Speed and distance are on the Speed & Distance page. Shift count, average shift, longest shift, and work/rest are on the Shifts page. See the user guide for the full walkthrough.
Which Garmin watches work?
A wide set of Forerunner, fenix, Instinct, Venu, vivoactive, epix, Enduro, MARQ, D2, Descent, and Approach watches that support Connect IQ watch apps. If your watch can install third-party Connect IQ apps, it may be supported.
How does it know I'm on the bench?
Motion, speed/distance evidence when available, and short heart-rate context. It is not perfect, especially on weird bench changes or short shifts, but the goal is no button pressing every shift.
Do I need the Android app?
No. The watch works standalone and shows you your stats post-game. The Android app is for keeping a session history and looking at HR/shift charts on a bigger screen. If you want to help test the Android beta, send your Google Play email, Garmin watch model, Android phone model, and what kind of skate you can test.
What should I update before my next skate?
Update RinkPulse on your Garmin watch from Connect IQ and update RinkPulse Companion on Android from Google Play or the current test link. Open the Android app once after updating so it can check the watch connection and prepare its local history backup. If your Android history looks wrong, do not uninstall or clear app storage before contacting support.
iPhone? Apple Watch?
Not yet. Possibly. No promise on timing. It's a side project.
How much?
Free right now. No ads. The Garmin watch app and local Android history do not require an account. Optional Android cloud saves use a RinkPulse Companion sign-in. Premium purchase is not live.
Can I send feedback?
Please. rinkpulsesupport@gmail.com. Bug reports with watch model, phone model, and what happened are gold.
